Sidney Haertel Gets Her Happily Ever After With Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Group

Initially, Sidney Haertel thought the pain she was experiencing was from a groin muscle she pulled on the job as a bridal consultant. After the pain got so bad it started inhibiting her from lifting large wedding dresses for her clients and fulfilling her job duties, she knew it was time to seek medical help.

Sidney made an appointment at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Group, where she met with orthopedic surgeon Dr. David Randall, who scheduled an X-ray to get a better idea of Sidney’s condition. Sidney will never forget when Dr. Randall came into her room with her imaging results.

“He said, ‘you have a broken hip,’” remembers Sidney. “‘And it’s going to be replaced tomorrow.’”

Initially shocked, Sidney was impressed at the efficient, fast pace at which the Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Group team handled her case pre- and post-surgery. Dr. Randall and the orthopedic team created a personalized treatment plan for Sidney so she could quickly return to work.

“The orthopedic team at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Group was the best direction to go,” says Sidney. “The whole process was wonderful.”

Three months after her hip replacement, Sidney returned to her busy job. She is now able to lift heavy wedding dresses again and help give her clients the weddings of their dreams.
